Scott and I took a day trip down to Charlotte a couple Saturdays ago. We needed to meet my aunt at noon to give her the Hamilton ticket I won through the lottery and since the weather looked to be decent we decided to take Leigan and make a day of it.
We first went to Town Brewing because one of my girlfriends recommended it. I had read online that the food was good so we decided to order some since it was basically lunch time. Note: since they serve food, dogs must stay outside but they have a really nice outdoor area.
Scott and I decided to order the Nacho Camacho, which was nachos with beer cheese, black bean + corn salsa, and smoked brisket. They were delicious!
I love to get flights whenever we are visiting new breweries because its the best way to try multiple things! I decided to get a flight to try some of their sour beers! I got broken tarted (a fruited session sour), slurp (a smoothie sour with blackberry, key lime, blood orange, and vanilla), outside the lines (a strawberry, tangerine sour IPA), and the margarita gose. They were all good, but I’m especially partial to smoothie sours. **Follow me on untapped @tulloswithat
Our second stop was Summit Seltzer. Summit Seltzer is Charlotte’s first seltzery, and the first seltzery on the east coast. I have been wanting to go here for quite awhile and I am thrilled I finally got to check it out. The decor is a whole vibe with several photo op areas!
Again I decided to go with a flight option! I tried cool as a…which is a tart lime and cucumber seltzer, toast to charlotte…which is a mixed berry with açaí seltzer, cinco de margo…which is their take on a traditional margarita, and craver road…which is a blood orange and pineapple seltzer. I seriously wish we lived closer because I loved this place!
