I finally feeling better after being sick since Thanksgiving. I think my body forgot what being sick is like since its been awhile. I think it definitely made up for lost time and I don’t want to go through that again for awhile!
My favorite taco truck (El Taco Vaquero) was at Joymongers Barrel Hall on Friday night so we took Leigan with us to grab some dinner. They weren’t really too busy so we got our food in a timely manner and had a drink as well. Joymongers currently has a delicious blackberry lemon seltzer!
Saturday morning started off with my first trip to the gym since before thanksgiving. I would say I was back to feeling about 80-85% of normal so I figured it was time to head back. I started off with light cardio on the rower and then did some strength training exercises. Scott normally starts with some jogging then does weights and core. We ran a few errands around town after the Y. We did finally check out Melrose Coffee, which is on Stratford across from the mall. Luckily the traffic wasn’t too bad getting there but during this time of year that can be an iffy location. It’s very modern inside but I liked the decor and vibe. I do wish they had recycling options since they served the food in plastic containers.
The weather was great as we were heading home so I asked Scott if he would like to get a glass of wine at Medaloni—they have great views. We swung by the house and picked up Leigan. We ended up out and about with her all afternoon and took her with us to the Jaycee’s Christmas parade downtown. Leigan did great and I think she enjoyed herself!
Too bad Wake Forest lost in the ACC Championship game, but it was awesome that they made it there!
If you haven’t been to 801 Southern Kitchen in Advance I suggest going. It’s so good and has become a staple for us for breakfast! We went Sunday morning for breakfast and we also manage to get there at the best time! Their pancakes are so good.
I found a circuit HIIT workout on Pinterest that I did for about 20 minutes when we got home. Slowly building back up my stamina, which is frustrating but necessary. I plan to try to get to the y/get a workout in every day this week!
