I don’t know about you but I’m always looking for fun, unique and different ways to spend my time off work. Since I work every other weekend I like to try to get creative when I can! Bonus points if it involves giving back in some way.
When I saw a flyer for TOAST (Totally Outstanding Awesome Stroll through Tanglewood), which supports the Clemmons Rotary, I knew it would fit the bill. The stroll consists of about 1.5 mile walk through The Festival of Lights at Tanglewood Park the Sunday evening before the official opening. We chose the later arrival time so we got there around 7pm and didn’t run into any traffic. We got some hot chocolate, made a s’more (or two) and got started on our way. Once we were actually walking it was not crowded at all. I also loved walking by The Manor House Bed and Breakfast since we just spent our wedding weekend in August there. It took us a little less than an hour to casually stroll through the lights and it was MUCH better than waiting in all the traffic that comes with driving through.
I can’t wait to go back next year and I can see this becoming a yearly tradition for us!
